Parkside Pediatrics is pleased to announce the opening of their new state of the art office at Five Forks in Simpsonville, SC. The design of this particular office building was very well thought out and intentional with a hope and desire to provide the most up to date pediatric care to our patients, while at the same time creating a new standard in efficiency for office-based medicine. One of the advantages of building an office from the ground up is that we were able to design things the way we thought best. We toured numerous physician offices throughout the southeast, combining the best features from each.
Like many offices, Parkside has both a well-child and a sick-child waiting room. We didn't stop there though. We felt it necessary to provide a separate Newborn Waiting Area for infants (birth-2 months), hopefully helping to further avoid germs and illness that all too often are found in the doctor's office. Likewise, we wanted to provide our teenage patients a separate Teen Waiting Area that has a less "kiddie" feel. This area is complete with iPod listening stations with volume adjustable headsets.
Because we feel that breast feeding is the optimal choice for infant feeding and nutrition, we wanted to provide a place where nursing mothers can go to have a private spot during feeding time. Our Lactation Center is a private, comfortable area where mothers can nurse, and where lactation consultants can assist by providing support for mothers during this new phase in their lives.
One other unique feature of our facility is the Athletic Evaluation/Procedure Center. It is here that we will perform full sports physicals, perform any necessary procedure, or provide any longer treatments that may be necessary.
At Parkside, all of our medical records are maintained in the form of an electronic medical record. What this means for you is that your child's medical information is organized in an easy to access database that will help to eliminate errors, such as those involving medications or prescriptions. No more messy confusing charts that cause the wrong prescription to be called to the wrong pharmacy. In addition our office is Wireless and has the ability to electronically send prescriptions directly to the pharmacy of your choice, so that it is ready for pick up, eliminating pharmacy wait times.
