New Pediatric Practice in Greenville:  Parkside Pediatrics

Location:  Batesville Rd, two blocks from Woodruff Road in the Five Forks Area

Physicians:

Justin Moll, MD

Medical School: Medical University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Pediatric Residency: Children’s Hospital, Greenville Hospital University Medical Center

Scott Dobson, MD

Medical School: Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine

Pediatric Residency: Children’s Hospital, Greenville Hospital University Medical Center

Q: Why did you choose Five Forks as the location for your practice?

Dr. Dobson: “The Five Forks area is filled with young families and grows bigger every day.  Both of our wives love this area; we both go to churches nearby and this is where we’ve chosen to raise our own families.  We hope to serve the community and its children as we become a part of it ourselves.”

Q: What makes Parkside Pediatrics different than the practices already established in the Greenville area?

Dr. Dobson: “All pediatricians desire to give personal care, but in health care these days, that’s very hard to achieve.  Since we met in training, Dr. Moll and I have shared the same dream of building a pediatric practice that was one of kind.   We will differentiate ourselves from the others in the close relationships we maintain with our patients, the services we offer, our office’s efficiency, and our state of the art facility.  We believe that Parkside Pediatrics will set a new standard for outpatient pediatrics that extends beyond the Upstate.”

Dr. Moll:  “At Parkside, families will never feel that their doctor is in a rush to leave the room.  We look forward to the lasting friendships we will build with families.  One way we plan to preserve our mission is by staying small and always being available to our patients.  As a small physician practice our office will function like a small family ourselves.  A lot of groups are huge or share call with smaller groups and so if your baby is sick at night to get help from your pediatrician, most of the time you don’t know the doctor you are talking to and they don’t know your child either.  Also, at Parkside time waiting for the doctor will be minimal and actual time spent with the physician and nursing staff will be maximal.  We believe that the close relationships we form and maintain with our patients and their families will allow us to be better doctors.”

Q: You guys mention building a “state of the art facility.”  How is Parkside going to be any more advanced than the next office?

Dr. Dobson: “Our office will use a sophisticated electronic medical records system.  With this system, patients’ charts will be available to us at the click of button—in the exam room, in our back office when dad is on the phone requesting a medicine refill, and late night from our homes when mom is up with her crying newborn.  Prescriptions will be faxed directly to the patient’s pharmacy to save parents time waiting in line.  Parents will also be able to request appointments on our web site, register for classes, obtain health information and pediatric news updates.  The architectural design of the building is even pediatric-centric with a student athletic evaluation room, breast-feeding center, separate well and sick waiting rooms, and separate newborn & adolescent waiting rooms.”

Dr Moll:  “And while we pride ourselves on our attention to detail and practicing the most up-to-date pediatric medicine available, our greatest satisfaction is found in the relationships we develop with kids and their families—this is what makes us happy.  From tickling the two-year-old to cracking jokes with a teenager that I’ve known since he was born—this is the joy of pediatrics.”
