Parkside offers these classes as a resources and an opportunity for our parents to get together with other  parents to talk about all the excitement, challenges and concerns of parenting.   Join our Parkside Pediatrics Doctors, staff and local professionals as they lead a variety of classes to help us to be better parents. Learn proven tips and techniques to better bond with your baby, tackle the toddler years, connect with your kids and teach your teens ... all at Parkside Pediatrics!

Presenting Parkside

Welcome to Daddy Bootcamp!  Strap on your boots and hang on for a fun filled, no holding back, real-life lessons about what is happening and going to happen as you welcome your new baby.  Taught by a Parkside Pediatrician, this class has lots of information and even more laughs! 

Toddler Basics is designed for parents of kids ages 1-3 years old.

Your kids are ON THE MOVE! - Now, what do you do?  This class covers a real life things like: nutrition, sleeping habits, dicipline, activites, pre-school and lots more! Learn how to: "Tackle the Toddler Years ... and LOVE it!"

 

Other Classes will be offerred for Parents with kids ages 4-10 years old.  During this critical time in parenting, we help answer the question ... How do I connect with my Kids?   Discussions will follow on all aspects including  your child's physical, mental and emotional growth and how you as a parent have an important role during this time of foundation building.  This class will be led by a variety of experts including Parkside Pediatricians, RN's and local experts.

 

Post Partum Support Group

The 1st Thursday of every month from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. by Susan Breisch, CPD, professional doula and experienced mother of five! Please call Susan at 864-419-3289 for more information. 

 Introduction to Infant Massage 

 A certified massage therapist explains the benefits of infant massage to new parents or parents-to-be!  Class includes demonstration with hands-on practice, tension relief/relaxation for baby as well as special bonding time for baby and parent.

 An estimated four out of five car seats are installed or used incorrectly, endangering the lives of children.  Make an appointment today for a FREE car seat safety check for any child up to age 13.  A certified car seat technician will check the installation of your car seat and teach you tips for ensuring proper installation.  Please note that if you have more than one car seat to be checked you will need to schedule an appointment for each seat.  Register online at St. Francis Baby or call 864-675-4400. 

The goal of the Parkside University parenting program is to Strivie to help families live a healthy and happy life.  While there is no charge for many of our classes, depending on resources, speakers, materials, etc. there may be a charge for certain ones.  Any charges will be posted at the time of the class date announcement.  Some classes like Baby Basics 101 will always be provided at no charge as a service to our community from Parkside Pediatrics.
